“nice restaurant with good atmosphere”
Upon entering we were actually as good as ignored, at the bar we asked if there was a table free for 2, this was there and were allowed to own a nice spot from search. most of the staff speak English. Although not a problem for us was that it took long for our drinks that we had best. the wine we had ordered was very tasty and soft taste. the farm chicken that I had ordered was tasty and very tender to taste good, too bad he was already cold after a few minutes. that friend of mine had a steak which was very spicy too spicy to be without water to drink.
In the afternoon, we are in The Tara ended up on the advice of friends, great catering establishment that upon entering all cosy and cosy looks. The decor is great care what is reflected by the many decorations which are all nicely matched.
Our coats were not yet out when all friendly was asked what we wanted to drink, this time in English and later in the Dutch. This characterizes as the public, we have heard many languages all around us. Have decided to also something to eat which resulted in a burger and a lady citizen. We both have an empty board left behind, in short, delicious eaten and we come back again soon!
The decoration and design of the place is very nice, classy and cozy, good music, good drinks and it is a perfect time to gather and share good times with groups of friends, well located!
“3 times in 3 days”
My boyfriend and I visited this bar during December for some drinks and then ate here when meeting friends. (Cider served here). All the bars and restaurants we visited didnt look
so pretty from the front but inside was stunning and I took lots of photos. Beautifully decorated inside with an enormous chandelier in the centre purple room, stuffed deer heads and rock crystals in the bar. It had a really laid back atmosphere with kind waiters.
After some yummy Dutch Bitterballen, chunky chips and tomato soup, 18 pints between us and our friends, a hefty bill and a sore head followed!
Good value for money.
“Good place for lunch or dinner”
Been here a few times over the years & never once been disappointed with the food. Its in a good location on the Rokin. Its a good starting place for a night out.
Great bar, great bartenders, and good crowd.
Arriving in Amsterdam too early in the morn, my co-worker and I took a nap, ate lunch, and then decided to do what healthy American adults do when bored. We drank.
Having been before, the co-worker recommended we go again and I quickly complied when he said, “cold beer.” We arrived to be greeted by Katja, a beautiful brunette (I mean, seriously, she was stunning to look at and fun to talk to), who allowed us to sample the local brew, Jupiler, and then order our own drinks.
While I expected the tab to be ginormous (this is Europe after all), it was only 43 Euros so we left a 50 for the drinks and tip. It did start to pick up a bit around 18.00u so if you get there beforehand, you should be able to get a bar stool or choice of seat on the floor.
It is not another bar…. mostly ex pat crowd… as it is supposed to be an Irish Pub. Pleasant service and nice atmosphere. Music is a bit loud but hey.. it is a bar…. full drinks list but you want to get there to drink beer… ohh.. you can also have a bite if you want 🙂
It is very central and has two entrances on both sides… a lot of restaurants and other places around.
